Witcher 3

One of my favourite games that i have played is witcher 3. It is an action RPG that was created by CD project Red (a Polish game company).

You play as a witcher, a monster slayer, called Geralt and you just found word that someone that you have mentored has been seen after going missing. You also find out that she is being hunted by the Wild hunt. The Wild Hunt are a group of specters who are hunting your apprentice for reasons that you find out when you continue to play the game. While you are trying to locate her, you will come across characters who will either help or hinder you and have problems that they want you to deal with before they will help you.

The main reason why i like the game is that the quests you complete can have surprises and aren't your generic "go there, kill this number of enemies" or "find an item and bring it back". Most of the quests have you investigate footprints and blood trails to find enemies such as Fiends and Griffins. One of the first quests in the game had you take a contract to find a griffin. To complete this, you needed to firstly find the bodies of the victims to determine what type of monster it was. You also needed to find a plant that could be used to bait the griffin so that woul would be able to kill it. This allowed you to find a bit of information about the griffin. It is nice that you are able to get some background information about the monster you are tasked with killing. What makes this better is the NPCs that you meet. One of them has a bleak back story and another one is an actor who never shuts up.
